Tilly the wonder van

Choose your own adventure! Tilly the Sportsmobile camper van is just waiting to see where you’ll go next! Whether you want to eat your way through the farmer’s markets of Maine’s coast, go on a blueberry-pie tasting adventure on your way to Acadia National Park, or get quiet in the forests of the White Mountains, Tilly will get you there and keep you comfortable.

Tilly is a 4-seater, 4-sleeper camper van with all the luxuries you need to explore northern New England. A bench seat with two seatbelts folds down into a full sized bed, and when the roof pops up, two more can fit in the loft above. Bedding for 4 is provided. The kitchen is equipped with running water, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a cooktop, to keep your adventures affordable by cooking in.

*Heads up: Tilly is generally loaned to friends and family right now. Also, some upper body strength and a little height (at least 5’3”) is really helpful to pop up the top.

Tilly includes all the amenities you need to just start her up and start adventuring:

  • All kitchen equipment: dishware and utensils for cooking and eating, storage containers, oil, salt and pepper.

  • Camping equipment to extend your living space: two camping chairs, a small fold-out table, lanterns.

  • Cards and games to keep you entertained, as well as maps and tour books of the region.

  • Bedding for 4 (4full-sized sheets, 2 fleece blankets, 2 quilted cotton blankets, 4 pillows with cases).

  • Water storage cubes.

  • Bike rack for 4 bikes.

  • Road essentials: laundry line, waterproof matches, first aid kit, and more.

Payment in cash, check, or Venmo is fine. Venmo is @midcoast-getaways.

  • Tilly is loaned primarily to friends and family on a ‘pay what you can’ basis.

A reasonable guide for pricing is between $50 and $125 per night, depending on the season, how much driving you expect to do, and how long you plan to adventure for.

Winter stays in Tilly are not recommended, but if you’re interested, let’s chat!

Taxes & Fees: Maine room and board taxes are 9%. We will take this out of the total cost of your trip.

  • You need your own liability insurance in order to borrow Tilly. You might also have your own AAA - we think Tilly is in good shape, but it’s a good idea to know that you have help in case you get a flat.

You’re welcome to roam New England and southern Quebec and the Canadian Maritimes, but please try to keep your adventures to under 150 miles per day.
